MISSION
LatinX in AI (LXAI) bridges communities, academics, industry, and politicians working to further AI innovation and resources for LatinX individuals globally. We drive and support research, development, infrastructure, and mentoring programs to boost innovation and capabilities of LatinX professionals working in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science.
Creating Opportunity for LatinX in AI
Launched in January 2018, leaders from organizations in Artificial Intelligence, Education, Research, Engineering, and Social Impact banded together to create a group that would be focused on “Creating Opportunity for LatinX in AI.”
Artificial Intelligence has the potential to displace workers of marginalized populations including those of Latinx origin. AI is already perpetuating social bias and prejudice because it lacks representation of LatinX professionals in the AI industry.
LatinX in AI Org and programs are volunteer-run and fiscally sponsored by the Accel AI Institute, 501(c)3 Non-Profit. Support our work by donating to our Open Collective.

RESEARCH WORKSHOPS
Travel Grant Fund
For each workshop LatinX in AI partners with companies and individuals to raise money towards the LXAI conference travel and registration grant fund. Grants are awarded to our members, predominantly students from Latin American countries and Hispanic Serving Institutions in the US.
Awards can be used towards the cost of travel, accommodation, registration, visa fees, or per diem meals during the co-located conference. This makes the difference of being able to attend or not for students who are traditionally underfunded or coming from developing countries.
To date, our organization has awarded over 1100 travel and conference registration grants to members of our community!

Effective Presentation
Practice successful delivery of your findings.
Visually represent your data and outcomes in posters or slides, making complex info easier to share & digest.
Mentors can suggest improvements to organize your images, charts, and text.
Publish and Present
Relax and share your expertise.
Submit your abstract for an opportunity to present at our official LatinX in AI workshops co-located with prestigious AI and ML conferences.
